The BHA’s reputation is getting a bruising lately with some seemingly ridiculous
actions instigated by them. These
include a possible retrospective whip ban for Aidan Coleman (which the stewards on the day didn’t feel
warranted a ban) and proposed action to be taken against David Bridgewater for his comments made about the Ludlow stewards in the heat of the moment (for which he has now apologised but were still hilarious and quite
possibly too close to the truth for comfort).
The recurring theme throughout seems to be the stewards.
Perhaps it’s time for some professional travelling stewards rather than
jobs for the boys? It would help establish
some consistency as well as credibility.
